Our team undertakes a huge number of tree care jobs including anything from pruning and pollarding, to hedge maintenance and hedge trimming. Caring for and maintaining trees and hedges is crucial to avoid risk of injury to the public, damage to property and eventually the need to fell the tree completely.
Willow trees for example can grow incredibly quickly and can also get out of control. Regular trimming and pruning can prevent the need to pollard the tree. Pollarding is the cutting off of all upper branches on a tree into short stubs. This promotes many smaller sprouts to come through and essentially the ‘head’ of the tree begins again.
Similarly, Conifer trees and hedges can grow incredibly tall and wide. Although a Conifer is an evergreen type of tree, the newer needles on the ends of the branches are the only ones that are green. The older needles on the inside, closer to the trunk, are brown. Without regular pruning and trimming, it can become impossible to regain control of this type of tree as if you cut too far into the branches, you will be left with the brown needles which will never regrow or regreen.
Deadwood removal is a key part of tree care. Trees are living organisms that can shed branches throughout their life. This isn’t just an eyesore but can also pose a real risk to peoples safety. As a result, we can identify and damaged or dead branches on your trees and remove them, eliminating the risk of them falling in strong winds and storms.
